How Much Does a Business Website Cost in India?

Quick answer: A business website in India can cost anything from a few thousand rupees for a basic template to several lakh for a large custom build. Most small businesses spend ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 on a custom site of 5 to 8 pages from an agency, plus 18% GST. The final price depends on the number of pages, custom features, content and SEO, plus yearly domain and hosting fees.

Ask five people and you'll hear five prices, anywhere from "₹5,000 on Fiverr" to "₹5 lakh from an agency." Both can be right, because they're describing different things.

What are the three kinds of business websites?

A template site is the cheapest. A freelancer takes a readymade theme, adds your logo and text, and hands it over quickly. The downside is that it looks like thousands of other sites, often loads slowly, and gets awkward the moment you need something it wasn't built for.

A custom small business site is designed around your brand, loads fast on phones and is set up for Google from the start. It usually has 5 to 8 pages (home, about, services, work and contact), and it's what most shops, clinics, gyms, restaurants and service businesses need.

An ecommerce or booking site does everything the custom site does and adds products, a cart, payments, delivery rules, customer accounts or a booking system. There's more to build and test, so it costs more.

What does Konvex Growth charge?

Our starting prices, before 18% GST:

  • Custom small business website of 5 to 8 pages: from ₹24,999
  • Shopify store: from ₹39,999

The final quote depends on pages, features and content, and we list everything in writing before you pay. For comparison, freelancers in India usually charge ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 for a basic site, and agencies ₹15,000 to ₹60,000.

What pushes the price up?

The number of pages matters, but so does how different they are: ten nearly identical pages cost less than five unique ones. Custom features such as booking, online ordering, calculators or member logins add cost. So does content, if you need the words written and the photos taken. Proper speed work and SEO also cost money, and they're worth it, since a slow site with no Google setup is cheap for a reason.

What are the costs nobody mentions upfront?

You'll pay a small yearly fee for your domain name. Hosting can be very cheap, or even free, for a fast static site, while ecommerce platforms like Shopify charge a monthly plan. Ask whether maintenance (updates, fixes and small changes after launch) is included, and for how long. Also check whether changes after approval are billed separately, because some agencies charge for every edit.

Is a cheap website worth it?

A ₹5,000 site you have to replace within a year ends up costing more than one built properly the first time. When Konvex Growth built Chaat Queen's brand site, we built it so it could later become a full Shopify store, and we later did exactly that without throwing the original work away.

What should you ask before you pay?

  1. What exactly is included, page by page?
  2. Will I own the domain, the files and the accounts?
  3. Is Google setup (titles, sitemap, Business Profile link) included?
  4. What does maintenance cost after launch?
  5. How many rounds of changes are included?
